Key characteristics of JPT |
---|
1.The test will be held 6 times a year
It increases the exam opportunity for those who want to study or work in Japan. |
2.The same exam from beginner to advanced learners
The test uses four alternative methods to measure Japanese communication skills. Since it is an all-level competency test, you can take the same exam even you are a beginner or an advanced learner. |
3.Fast checking!
The result announcement will be 2 weeks after taking the exam. Test takers can view their test result on https://jptthailand.web.app/ |
4.Situation in everyday life
The grammars and vocabs in the test content are real situations in daily life. This test helps test takers measure their actual ability of communication skills. |
5.The test result is presented as a score
The test scores are on a scale of 10 to 990 other than a pass or a fail result. (both listening and reading scores are on a scale of 5 to 495, presented in increments of 5 points) Knowing your current ability from these scores and comparing it with your target ability, you can get an idea of how much you need to learn. |
6.Retaking the Test
By retaking the test, you can measure the progress because of constant difficulty level. It is also a method to improve your scores. |
7.Prompt Responses
Taking the test on PC requires quick answers. This method helps test takers measure real communication skills. |
8.Score Equalization Method
It is a scaled score, full marks of 990 points, calculated using a statistical processing method called “equating.” |
